Hot Springs Jackson Hole: Where to Go, What to Know, and How to Plan Your Visit

Explore all Outpost rentals

Hot springs are one of the best off-mountain winter activities in Jackson Hole. Soaking in naturally warm, mineral-rich water while snow falls around you is about as Jackson as it gets, and it’s an easy way to add variety to a ski trip, rest day, or non-ski itinerary.

Below, we break down the two most popular options, Astoria Hot Springs and Granite Hot Springs, including what they’re like, how to plan, and what to bring.

Astoria Hot Springs

Astoria Hot Springs is the easiest hot springs experience near Jackson, and a great pick if you want something comfortable, family-friendly, and simple to plan. It’s located just south of town and offers multiple pools with different temperatures, plus a children’s pool and a cold plunge.

Quick planning details

  • Pricing: Adults $26.25, kids (2–12) $19, 2 and under free
  • Sessions: 1 hour 45 minutes each
  • Hours: First session starts at 9:00 am; last session ends at 4:45 pm
  • Closed: Wednesdays
  • Reservations: Advance purchase recommended
  • Food + drinks: Snack bar on-site; outside food + non-alcoholic drinks allowed; no outside alcohol

What to bring

  • Swimsuit (required)
  • Towel (towel rentals available on-site if needed)
  • Consider removing silver jewelry before soaking

Granite Hot Springs

Granite Hot Springs is the more adventurous option. It sits deep in the Bridger-Teton National Forest and feels like a true winter mission in the best way. In summer you can drive close, but in winter, getting there requires a snow-based approach, which is why many visitors choose an outfitter.

How to get there in winter

  • Snowmobile access: Teton Tour Co. offers snowmobile trips to the hot springs
  • Dog sled access: Jackson Hole Iditarod Sled Dog Tours offers access via dog sled
  • On your own: We recommend beginners use a guide, but if you do want to go solo, pick up cross country skis or a fat bike in town then park off HWY 191 near Granite Creek Road and follow the trail 9.5 miles (relatively flat) to the pool

What to know

  • Cost: $12 adults, $7 child (cash only)
  • Distance: About 25 miles from Jackson Town Square to the trailhead, plus a winter approach to the pool
  • Facilities: Changing rooms and a bathroom, but not much else
  • Note that cell service is limited

What to bring

  • Very warm layers for the trek (plan for real winter conditions)
  • Swimsuit + towel
  • Water + snacks

Which Hot Springs Should You Choose?

  • Best for easy access: Astoria
  • Best for families / mixed groups: Astoria
  • Best for “winter adventure” vibes: Granite
  • Best for a full off-mountain day: Granite

Where to Stay Near Astoria Hot Springs
