Why Fall Might Be the Best Time to Bike in Jackson Hole
Summer gets most of the attention, but many locals would argue that fall is the better season for riding.
Temperatures are cooler, trails are quieter, and the valley's foliage turn shades of yellow and gold. Wildlife activity also increases in the fall, making rides through the valley especially memorable.
Scenic Pathway Rides for Every Ability Level
One of the things that makes Jackson Hole unique is its extensive pathway system. More than 56 miles of paved pathways connect many of the valley's most popular destinations, including Town Square, Wilson, Teton Village, and Grand Teton National Park.
Some of our favorite rides include:
- Jackson to Teton Village: A scenic pathway connecting town to the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
- Jackson to Wilson: A relaxed ride with beautiful mountain views and the option to stop for lunch or coffee in Wilson.
- The North Pathway: A stunning ride into Grand Teton National Park with nonstop Teton views.

Biking in Grand Teton National Park
If you only do one bike ride during your trip, make it the pathway system inside Grand Teton National Park.
Dedicated pathways allow cyclists to ride through the park while avoiding much of the vehicle traffic. The route between Moose and Jenny Lake is especially scenic in the fall, with incredible views of the Tetons nearly the entire way.

Looking for More Adventure?
If you're after more adrenaline, Jackson Hole has no shortage of mountain biking opportunities.
The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Bike Park remains open through September 13 and offers lift-served downhill riding, flow trails, jump lines, and beginner-friendly options.
That said, you absolutely do not need to downhill mountain bike to enjoy biking in Jackson Hole. Many visitors never leave the paved pathways and still consider biking one of the highlights of their trip.
Bike Rentals and E-Bikes
No bike? No problem.
Jackson has several excellent outfitters offering everything from cruisers and road bikes to e-bikes and full-suspension mountain bikes.
If you are interested in covering more ground or tackling a few hills, an e-bike can be a great option. E-bikes are allowed on paved pathways throughout Jackson Hole and within Grand Teton National Park.
