WHERE TO STAY
Town of Jackson
The main advantage of staying in downtown Jackson is your proximity to restaurants, shops, and nightlife. Central to all activities, downtown is a 25-minute drive from Teton Village, where our main ski resort, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, is located; a 30-minute drive from the Southern Entrance of Grand Teton National Park; and a 90-minute drive from the Southern Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

North of Town
An easy 15-minute drive from downtown Jackson and a 40-minute drive from the resort at Teton Village, North of Town properties offer a more secluded location for your stay. With a quick 10-minute drive to the Southern Entrance of Grand Teton National Park and a further 70-minute drive to the Southern Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, you’ll have great access to the national parks.

Spring Creek Ranch
Spring Creek Ranch is located on East Gros Ventre Butte and has incredible views of the Teton Range. Our property listings indicate which homes have direct views of the Tetons, and which homes you’ll need a quick walk around the neighborhood to find a vista. Spring Creek Ranch is a 15-minute drive to downtown Jackson, a 20-minute drive to Teton Village, a 30-minute drive to the Southern Entrance of Grand Teton National Park, and a 90-minute drive to the Southern Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. While Outpost guests are not considered guests of the Spring Creek Ranch hotel, all of our guests have access to the outdoor shared hot tubs and fitness center year-round, and the outdoor shared pool and tennis courts throughout the summer. The only amenities that you will not have access to are their concierge and shuttle services. Due to this, and its unique location, you will need to rent a car when staying here, regardless of the season. Note: we recommend ensuring that your rental car has winter tires during the winter season.

Teton Village
Teton Village is the location of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, our most popular ski resort. During the winter, this is an ideal location for easy access to the slopes. The majority of our condos located on Rachel Way and Michael Drive have access to the Sundance Tennis & Swim Club where you can use their outdoor shared pool, hot tubs, and tennis courts from Memorial Day through early October and late November through early April. During the summer, the resort has lift-access mountain biking and hiking trails. Get quicker access to spectacular views over the valley by taking the Bridger Gondola to the mid-mountain station and grabbing a bite to eat, or riding the Arial Tram to the top of Rendezvous Bowl. Are your properties pet friendly?
The majority of our homes are not pet friendly as the HOAs have strict regulations against pets in vacation rentals. Please refer to the pet-friendly status on each individual listing to ensure that you book a pet-friendly home if you plan to bring them along. Please note that only one dog is allowed at a time. We are only able to make exceptions for certified service animals who are trained to perform specific tasks required for disabilities. Unfortunately, emotional support animals do not qualify for this exception.
Do you have a minimum night requirement?
Depending on the time of year, our properties have a 4, 5, or 7-night minimum. Please feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you are interested in a 2 – 3 night stay to see if we can make an exception at any of our properties.
THINGS TO NOTE
Grand Teton National Park Closures
During the winter months, November 1st – April 30th, the furthest you can drive into Grand Teton National Park from the Southern Entrance is the Bradley and Taggart Lakes trailhead. From there you can cross-country ski and snowshoe further into the park. Depending on the snowfall, you may be able to walk the Bradley/Taggart trail in November and April. You can also drive through the Northern Entrance to take in Jackson Lake and its magnificent Teton backdrop..
Yellowstone National Park Closures
Access to Yellowstone National Park varies from year to year. Typically, the Southern Entrance, the entrance closest to Jackson, is open from mid-May to mid-October. We recommend checking the National Parks Service website for up-to-date information before making a plan to visit Yellowstone. In the winter, the only way you can access Yellowstone is by booking a snowmobiling or snowcoach tour.
Sundance Tennis and Swim Club Closure
The majority of our condos located on Rachel Way and Michael Drive have access to the Sundance Tennis & Swim Club where you can use their outdoor shared pool, hot tubs, and tennis courts. This will be noted on each individual listing. Please note that Sundance is only open from Memorial Day through early October and late November through early April as it is closed during our shoulder seasons.
Traffic
Please be aware that traffic is at its highest during the peak summer season and you should allow for more time when traveling to the National Parks or between downtown and Teton Village. You can also assume there is rush hour traffic traveling to and from Teton Village and Wilson to downtown Jackson.
Air Conditioning
Please note that the majority of our homes do not have air conditioning as our summer season is so short and the temperature drops significantly at night. For homes without air conditioning, we provide one fan per bedroom. Keeping the windows open when temperatures drop at night will help keep your unit cool, as will closing the windows and blinds when you leave during the day. Each listing will note whether or not the home has air conditioning under amenities and characteristics.

PLANNING YOUR TRIP
How do I get from the airport to my rental?
There is not a shuttle from the airport, so if you are not renting a car, we recommend reserving a car service in advance to pick you up upon arrival.
Local Transportation?
Jackson has many local taxi companies as well as Uber and Lyft. The most affordable form of transportation is the START Bus. The START Bus has multiple stops in downtown Jackson and has routes to Wilson and Teton Village. Please refer to the START Bus website for schedules, routes, and fares.
Do I need to rent a car?
We highly recommend that all visitors in the summer rent a car as there is no other way to get to the National Parks. In the winter, you do not need a car. However, if you do rent one, be sure the vehicle has either 4WD or AWD. As noted above, we have plenty of local taxis as well as Uber, Lyft, and a local bus system.
Where is the closest grocery store?
Albertsons, Smith’s, and Whole Foods are our three main grocery stores and are all located in downtown Jackson, with Albertsons most centrally located. When staying on the Westbank or in Teton Village, you can go to Aspens Market. They have a great selection and all of your basic needs. However, being a boutique market, it is more expensive than the larger grocers and has limited options. 30 days prior to check-in, you’ll receive a pre-arrival email inviting you to access our guest portal. Be sure to check the guest portal to determine which grocery store is closest to your rental before you arrive.
Do I need to purchase lift tickets in advance?
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort requires reservations for the entire ski season and we recommend purchasing your lift tickets as soon as you have accommodations. You can purchase discounted lift tickets through Outpost 14+ days in advance based on availability. Please note that we do not receive a discount for the holidays or peak ski season, the majority of February. Guests with IKON passes need to make their reservations separately through the IKON website.
Do I need to reserve ski/snowboard rentals in advance?
We recommend reserving your equipment rentals as soon as you have purchased your lift tickets. Outpost guests receive a 10-15% discount with Black Tie Ski Rental Delivery and Ski Butlers. Both companies will fit you in the comfort of your Outpost home.
Do you provide grocery delivery?
Outpost does not provide grocery delivery, but we recommend reaching out to Mountains of Groceries or Snap Pea Grocery Delivery. We do provide liquor delivery which you can purchase through our rental site, outfittedjh.com.
Do you have baby gear available?
We offer pack n plays, high chairs, jogging strollers, and baby backpack carriers through our rental site, outfittedjh.com.
Do we need restaurant reservations?
We highly recommend making dinner reservations in advance as it can be very difficult to get last-minute reservations in Jackson.
Parking
Please be aware that overnight street parking is only allowed from April 15th through October 31st in downtown Jackson. Street parking is never allowed in Teton Village or Wilson. Please be aware that the majority of our condos in Teton Village only have one parking space. While there are overflow lots available in the summertime, the parking garage in downtown Jackson is the only option for overnight parking throughout the winter. Snowmobiles, trailers, and oversized vehicles are prohibited at all properties.
Can I reserve housekeeping during my stay?
With enough advance notice, we offer mid-stay cleanings with or without linen and terry change. Please email [email protected] for availability and pricing.
ACTIVITIES
What summer activities do you recommend?
The National Parks are our main attraction during the summer. When exploring the National Parks on your own, we recommend downloading the All Trails app for information on hiking and renting a Gaper Guide for assistance driving through the parks.
There are also plenty of activities that we can recommend to get the most out of the Tetons while you’re here. The most popular ones include wildlife tours, whitewater rafting, scenic floats, horseback riding, and fly fishing. We receive discounts on all of these activities with the exception of fly fishing. Additionally, we also receive discounts on bike rentals. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
What winter activities do you recommend?
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is our main attraction in the winter for skiers and snowboarders. We also have a smaller mountain located in downtown Jackson, Snow King Mountain. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, they offer tubing and a mountain coaster.
As for non-alpine-ski-related activities, we recommend tours on the Elk Refuge, wildlife tours, snowshoeing tours, cross-country skiing tours, snowmobiling tours, dogsledding tours, and snowcoach tours. With the exception of dogsledding and tours of the elk refuge, Outpost guests receive discounts on all of these activities. Please contact [email protected] for more information.
